Alonso Gonzalez & Jazz Latino was set up in 2003, bringing together musicians from Malaysia, Colombia, United Kingdom, China, and Canada. Having lived in Madrid, Bogota and Caracas, Alonso now lives in Hong Kong, he has added to his quintet, musical elements from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, inspired by the groove and sounds of instruments like Bomba from Puerto Rico, the African DunDun, the Guaguanco Cubano, the Calypso and some flavours from the Caribbean coast of Colombia. All these follow the format of Afro Latin Jazz, shown in a simple way for better appreciation of the virtual sounds of the artist on the stage.
