Alberto Nosè was born in Villafranca di Verona, Italy in 1979. He started his piano studies at the Verona Conservatory F. E. Dall’Abaco under Laura Palmieri and graduated at the age of seventeen, continuing his education with Franco Scala, Boris Petrushansky and Leonid Margarius at the International Piano Academy Incontri col Maestro in Imola and attending master-classes by Maurizio Pollini, Murray Perahia, Andrej Jasinski, Michael Dalberto, Louis Lortie, Michel Béroff, Alexander Lonquich, Alfons Kontarsky, and Paul Badura-Skoda. Alberto Nosè first gained recognition at the age of eleven, winning First Prize in the Jugend für Mozart in Salzburg, thanks to which he undertook his first concert tour around Italy, Austria and France. He went on to win prizes at the 1999 Ferruccio Busoni Competition in Bolzano (Second Prize, with particular distinction), the 2000 Chopin Competition in Warsaw (Fifth Prize), the 2000 Paris Vendôme (First Prize), the 2002 Helsinki International Maj Lind (First Prize in 2002), the 2002 London World Piano Competition (Second Prize), and the 2004 Long- Thibaud in Paris (Second Prize). He won First Prize, Gold Medal and Sony Audience Prize at the Fifteenth Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition in Santander in 2005. He has performed throughout Europe and all over the world in important festivals and in prestigious concert halls, has collaborated in chamber music with the Ysaÿe Quartet, and appeared as soloist with major orchestras, working with distinguished conductors. He has given master-classes at the Conservatory in Geneva, at Mannes College of Music in New York and in Japan. His repertoire ranges from Bach to Stockhausen and Berio and his discography includes recordings for Assicurazioni Generali, for Tau Records, and for Nascor with piano music by Schumann and Prokofiev, released worldwide by Harmonia Mundi and a DVD with piano music by Mozart, on the occasion of his 250th Anniversary.
