⏳ 時間,是延續的,也是瞬間的;是不可逆的流逝,也是永恆的存留。
哲學家 柏格森 Henri Bergson 曾說,時間並非一連串可切割的瞬間,而是一種 「持續」(durée) —— 一種內在的流動,不斷累積、交織,塑造我們的記憶與存在。展覽 《時刻印記》 ,藝術家 蔡司虹 與 盧婉嫻 透過攝影與陶瓷,將時間具象化,讓我們在細微的紋理與痕跡中,感受時間的形態。
📷 蔡司虹 的攝影作品捕捉以色列死海岸邊的泥土裂紋與層層沉積,展現時間的延續與累積。這些地質紋理不僅是自然變遷的見證,更是時間靜默運行的印記。
🔥 盧婉嫻 的陶瓷創作則透過柴燒與樂燒技術,讓陶器表面留下無法重複的痕跡。這些不可控的變化,既象徵時間的短暫與瞬間性,也成為時間停駐的證明。
時間不僅發生於時鐘的刻度間,它滲透於地層的紋理、火焰的燃燒痕跡,甚至我們的肌膚與呼吸之中。這些作品不只是時間的見證,更是對時間的提問:我們如何在時間的長河中留下印記?
⏳ Time is continuous yet fleeting; it is an irreversible flow and an eternal presence.
The philosopher Henri Bergson once argued that time is not a series of discrete moments but a form of "duration" (durée)—a continuous, indivisible flow that shapes our memories and existence. In the exhibition "Imprints of Time," artists Janet Choi and May Loo transform time into tangible forms, allowing us to perceive its traces and rhythms in subtle textures and imprints.
📷 Janet Choi’s photography captures the cracked earth and sedimentary layers along the Dead Sea’s shores in Israel, revealing the accumulation of time. These geological patterns are not only records of natural transformation but also silent imprints of time’s passage.
🔥 May Loo’s ceramic works harness Wood firing and Obvara firing techniques, making unrepeatable marks on the pottery surface. These unpredictable changes symbolize the transient nature of time while simultaneously preserving its fleeting moments.
Time does not merely exist within the ticking of a clock—it permeates the layers of the earth, the scorch marks of fire, and even the breath we take. These works serve as both witnesses to time and inquiries into its essence: How do we leave our mark in the river of time?
