Deliveroo launches its new catering services to meet growing market demand, which is expected to become even more significant following the COVID-19 period. Deliveroo’s catering services offer convenient, hassle-free food and beverage catering at the click of a button for team meetings, corporate events and company parties, as well as family gatherings, get-togethers with friends and even junk parties or personal occasions such as bridal and baby showers and birthday celebrations.
Catering orders over HK$1,800 on specially designed catering menus on the platform will be processed via Deliveroo’s dedicated van delivery service to get the food all in one go on customers’ chosen delivery date and time slot. The service enables customers to access restaurants not normally available in their zones as normal consumers, do multi-pick up and enable out-of-zone or even cross-harbour delivery. Additional value-added services such as menu creation, event set up and servers can also be arranged by Deliveroo to address a wide range of catering needs, for groups of any size.
After identifying over hundreds of exceptional catering partners, Deliveroo has put together a launch catering portfolio featuring 50 partners, which consists of a mixt of existing restaurant partners from the platform as well as professional caterers not previously part of the Deliveroo family – encompassing a diverse offering of cuisines, budgets and locations across Hong Kong. Behind the scenes, Deliveroo is working hand-in-hand with partners to continue to grow the new catering offerings, and ensure that reunions are extra special as the city comes together once again to bond after months of social distancing.
Since the initial trial was launched in March, Deliveroo Catering has seen significant interest in the new catering menus on the platform and an increasing adoption of the service by corporates and personal customers alike. Catering partners on average are seeing a 50%-80% increase in total delivery sales through the addition of the new catering business. On the most recent Father's day, the positive result has shown the demand of catering for private parties is increasing rapidly.
Deliveroo has hired its first-ever catering manager outside its headquarters in Hong Kong to facilitate the new catering services; and regularly review the service, bring in new catering partners and improve selection for customers.
